Registration
How can I register to the platform?

In order to register, companies need to move to the “ACCESS” section, click the “COMPANY REGISTRATION” button and follow these steps:
  • enter name, surname and corporate email, indicate how they learnt about the initiative, confirm to accept the privacy policy and click “COMPLETE” button
  • a confirmation email, containing a link to set the personal password, will be sent at the email address previously indicated

What do companies get by registering?

Besides the access to the matching platform, the registration provides companies with many benefits, including:
  • visibility and access to an international network of companies and organizations
  • access to a set of tools, publications, insights with a special attention to internationalization issues
  • preferred access to the entire calendar of events during Expo Astana 2017.
Profiling and matching
How does the platform match companies? Which criteria are used in order to find a good match?

The matching process is based on reliable tools consisting in a semantic search engine, which analyses company descriptions provided by the companies’ representatives, and an algorithm, which checks the affinity of companies’ search requirements



Is there a minimum-affinity threshold for potential matches to be considered as adequate?

For the system to propose and schedule any meeting, the affinity between two companies must equal at least a minimum threshold of 50%. In case of many possible meetings, the platform favours those with the highest affinity.

Meetings
How does the platform manage the meeting schedule when there are possible matches for a Kazakh company?

Once the platform matches the Kazakh and foreign company on the base of specific needs, entered parameters and available combinations of dates, both companies will receive a notification and will be able to accept or not accept the proposed meeting.

Who is in charge of managing the meetings?

Meetings are managed by ad-hoc resources that monitor the development of the meeting, from the preparation to the draft of a recap document.


What is included in the fee paid for meetings, be they single, 3-meeting agenda, etc.?

The fee paid for the scheduling of meetings include the following services:
  • coordination of schedules with the identified counterparts
  • welcome service at the meeting locations
  • preparation for cultural aspects and support to the meetings, if required
  • interpreting support services up to 4 languages
  • conclusive report of the meetings
  • analysis of the satisfaction of the meeting

What is the maximum purchasable number of meetings scheduled for the same day?

It is possible to purchase a maximum of 6 meetings scheduled for the same day.

Where will the meetings between non-Kazakh and Kazakh companies be held?

Meetings between companies will be held in dedicated premises in the Samsung Area, inside the exhibition site of Expo Astana 2017.
Services
Are the services included in the fee provided for each of the purchased meetings?

Yes. The services included in the purchasing fee for meetings are provided for each of the meetings purchased (i.e.: single meeting, 3-meeting schedule, additional meetings).

Is it possible to purchase additional services for a specific meeting and/or for internationalization purposes?

Yes. Each company has the possibility to purchase additional services, both for specific meetings or for other reasons, such as the participation to EXPO BTOBE and internationalization processes and growth paths.

Payments
What are the accepted payment methods?

Any payment can be made with major credit cards or by online bank transfer. For specific issues and needs, please contact the Customer Service.

Do companies have to pay when they decide to confirm a meeting?

The payment is requested as soon as a company confirms its participation to a meeting.

How can I register to the platform?

In order to register, companies need to move to the “ACCESS” section, click the “COMPANY REGISTRATION” button and follow these steps:
  • enter name, surname and corporate email, indicate how they learnt about the initiative, confirm to accept the privacy policy and click “COMPLETE” button
  • a confirmation email, containing a link to set the personal password, will be sent at the email address previously indicated

NOTE: for each future login, once the email and the password are entered, the user will receive an email containing the secure PIN to authenticate and continue the navigation.

What do companies get by registering?

The registration is free of charge for foreign companies and, besides the access to the matching platform, provides them with many benefits, including:
  • visibility and access to an international network of companies and organizations
  • access to a set of tools, publications, insights with a special attention to internationalization issues
  • preferred access to the entire calendar of events during Expo Astana 2017.
Profiling and matching
How does the platform match companies? Which criteria are used in order to find a good match?

The matching process is based on reliable tools consisting in a semantic search engine, which analyses company descriptions provided by the companies’ representatives, and an algorithm, which checks the affinity of companies’ search requirements

The matching process between two companies characteristics and search requirements is based on more than 10 pre-set criteria. In particular, the verification of the following 5 criteria represents an essential condition for matches to occur:
  • country or geographic area
  • industry
  • reason for meeting
  • availability dates during Expo Astana 2017
  • list of companies that the user has no interest in meeting
The verification of the remaining criteria will allow matching affinity to rise.

Is there a minimum-affinity threshold for potential matches to be considered as adequate?

For the system to propose and schedule any meeting, the affinity between two companies must equal at least a minimum threshold of 50%. In case of many possible meetings, the platform favours those with the highest affinity.
Meetings
How is the meeting opportunity generated? Is it possible to confirm or reject a meeting?

Once the affinity with a Kazakh company is found, the platform communicates the meeting opportunity through an alert and via email. The non-Kazakh company has up to 48 hours before the time of the meeting to:
  • view on the portal the Kazakh company with a high affinity and interested in the meeting;
  • confirm the meeting availability.

Is the foreign company obliged to meet the Kazakh companies with which a match has been found?

The non-Kazakh company may choose wheter accept or refuse any meeting that has been identified by the platform up to 48 hours before the meeting. Otherwise, the meeting will expire.

Do foreign companies have to pay to meet Kazakh companies?

When a meeting with a Kazakh company is confirmed, the non-Kazakh company is required to pay a fee of 150 euro. If the non-Kazakh company is registered through an aggregator it is only required for it to provide credit card details, and in case of no-show at the meeting, it will be charged a penalty.

Who is in charge of the meeting management?

Meetings are managed by ad-hoc resources that are in charge of monitoring the flow of the meeting, from the preparation to the draft of a recap document. In particular, for each meeting the following services are guaranteed:
  • coordination of schedules with the identified counterparts
  • welcome service at the meeting locations
  • preparation for cultural aspects and support to the meetings, if required
  • interpreting support services up to 9 languages
  • conclusive report of the meetings
  • analysis of the satisfaction of the meeting

What shall the company do in case it is no longer able to attend the meeting?

Once a meeting is scheduled definitively, according to the established procedures, the company is required to attend. In the event it does not, the company will be charged a 200 euros penalty if it registered through an aggregator, or it will lose the confirmation fee in case it did not register through an aggregator.

Where will the meetings between non-Kazakh and Kazakh companies be held?

Meetings between companies will be held in dedicated premises in the Samsung Area, in the exhibition site of Expo Astana 2017.
Services
Is it possible to purchase additional services for a particular meeting and/or, more generally, for the internationalization path?

Yes. The company can browse and purchase additional services for a determinate meeting, services related to the EXPO BtoBe participation and finally services aimed at internationalization and growth in the short- medium term.

Is it possible to view profiles of non-Kazakh companies?

Yes, the foreign company can search information concerning other foreign companies only after the profiling process of meeting Kazakh companies has been completed. For further information, see the “Worldwide Research” service.
